Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and nylon are widely used engineering plastics due to their rigidity, heat resistance, and dimensional stability. However, their inherent limitations, such as notch sensitivity and brittleness at low temperatures, pose challenges for manufacturers. Introducing maleic anhydride grafted polyolefin elastomer (MAH-g-POE) as a reactive impact modifier fundamentally resolves these issues. Unlike conventional fillers, MAH-g-POE employs a synergistic mechanism of physical energy absorption and chemical bonding, ensuring submicron elastomer dispersion and improved stress distribution. For PET, it offers enhanced impact strength while retaining core properties, making it ideal for structural, industrial, and machinery applications. In nylon systems, it improves fatigue resistance, toughness in glass fiber composites, and interfacial bonding in alloys, addressing diverse industrial needs. Its versatility, stability in processing, and cost-effectiveness make it a go-to additive across automotive, electronics, and recycled materials sectors, aligning with sustainable development goals in plastics.
